Artbook Volume 9 is live on Kickstarter!
Artbook Volume 9 features lots of work from this year including sketch covers, pencils and inks, variant cover art from multiple titles, mock magazine covers, and the first appearance of character designs for my Jamie's upcoming project, Merc Magazine!
Push 2 rewards are unlocked!
We're so close, that I went ahead and unlocked the second tier of reward and added a new tier! Every backer will get a button and a magnet. Backers over $100 will get packs of both!

Shipping Update and LAST CHANCE

The last of the books arrived the end of last week and our warehouse is QUICKLY working through them all... including working over the weekend. Many of you also have pre-orders that were placed during this delay through the store, so they are combining these as well to be more efficient. Hundreds of packages are on their way with more being shipped every day.
As part of this, many packages have been upgraded to FEDEX whenever possible to provide better tracking and delivery times. So be sure to check your BACKER KIT, EMAIL or SHOPIFY for tracking updates!
If you've been delaying joining the Kickstarter for Issue #5 and I Make Boys Cry #1 to wait for this campaign to begin shipping... OR if you've been waiting for the last minute for personal/financial reasons... OR if you wanted to see what push goals get unlocked... THAT TIME IS NOW.
We are fast approaching the $100k push goal, and it is a big one. We've already gotten more to join this campaign than ever before, and at a higher mark. PLUS we've made it so that the rewards are even bigger for less! Not to mention we think this is the best artwork inside and out with our best story to date.
We always want to raise the stakes.
The book is also already in production and should complete before we even send out backer kits! Our goal is to have them arrive in JULY. So this will be the shortest wait as well.

White Widow #4 Books are IN and Packing NOW!

They're finally here and what an ordeal this was!!! Egads.
So we finally found out PRECISELY what the massive delay was and how to fix it to get them into our hands so we can get them into yours. The books had been in transit since the end of March (as we said) and had made it partway through the consolidator process only to get held up. We were being given the runaround with all blame on the Covid-19 issues.
That was entirely true, but it wasn't the whole story. What we finally discovered was that we had paid for FedEx Economy air service. Problem is, FedEx SUSPENDED that service globally... So while our books did make it partway through the consolidators, they did NOT get into the FedEx system before they cut off the program. The third party people our shipper worked with was not forthcoming with this... likely hoping things would return to normal "soon" and FedEx would restart their economy service. To date, that has still not happened.
So, we sent our shipper to get a representative to grab our books, take and relabel everything (which required repacking) and place them with a PRIORITY shipping carrier at as big of a discount as we could get... This ended up costing us over DOUBLE what we normally pay! OUCH. But it had to be done.
So our crew is now quickly assembling everything and they look great. They should begin shipping out by Monday, and will work quickly to get them in your hands.
So while we couldn't have foreseen what would happen, we can take steps to mitigate the issue moving forward. So FOR ISSUE #5 ONWARD we will be utilizing a combination of printers. The bulk of our covers will be printing domestically. We have spent the past several weeks making certain the quality will remain the same with Avenue 4, which also handles books for many publishers such as Image Comics. They cannot handle some products like our lenticulars, so those will still be produced in China. They will all still be FIRST PRINTINGS...
Additionally, we have worked with FedEx directly (not through a broker) and negotiated PRIORITY RATES that are comparable to what we were previously paying for FedEx Economy! This will give us direct control of our tracking and shorten delivery time to us by 2 weeks! In short, we have learned from our issues.
So if you've been waiting to join our current Kickstarter for White Widow #5 and I Make Boys Cry #1 now is the time! We have less than 10 days to go. The creative for the books are done and printing is underway later this week. We expect to begin delivery in NEXT MONTH! So this will be an incredibly fast process.

Fingers Crossed - White Widow #4 Update

So let's all keep our fingers crossed, but our shipper has informed us that the log jam is expected to be lifted and they tell us that we should receive the books NEXT WEEK. We have our guys ready to get stuff started going out IMMEDIATELY once they arrive. So here's hoping this holds true!
Again we apologize for the delays. We have been as anxious as you all to have them arrive for the months. We are told that global air traffic is picking back up and should be back to "somewhat normal" by mid June. This will mean White Widow #5 should be on track to arrive by the first of July as well. Let us pray that this also remains true.
Our prayers continue to go out to any of you whose family, lives, jobs, etc have been affected by the pandemic. We truly appreciate and love our readers and community we have here. Your faith in us has kept us going and we were able to weather this storm only through your support.
